Motorola going open source on Java ME
Sun has similar plans, and has even promised to do so.
Motorola, that's a big promoter of Java ME (as well as Linux), intends to provide this under the Apache license. Hopefully with Sun as a participant. Otherwise I don't see how this could succeed.
The Apache license says that you can make commercial products based on Apache-licensed software provided you don’t market them with Apache brand. That would hence also be true for Java ME.
