Improved mobile phone components
Yahoo! - Samsung Intros Dual-Sided LCD for Mobile Phones: This is optimal for clamshell phones, and makes the upper shell very thin. Both sides are 240*320 in full color. Having such a high resolution on the outside of a phone is arguable, but let's say you view videos without having the phone open. Makes sense.

Engadget - Microvision unveils tiny projector for mobile devices: I think this could primarily be useful for viewing TV shows and movies, as it's quite painful to view videos on a small phone display. Many talk about business use, but I don't quite see that as a key area.

Engadget - Mobile phones to adopt smaller "micro-USB" connector: My SEMC K608i has a very tiny USB connector, smaller than the type found on digital cameras. Yet this article mentions a connector that will be even smaller than that. It's no wild guess that all phones will use USB in the future, both for data transfer and power/charging. USB 2.0 is fast enough for transferring large amounts of music and videos.
