Sony Ericsson phones with GPS
Click on the links for more info:

C702

W760i

X1

I apologize for the Swedish links, but I didn't find C702 and W760i at the UK site.

Finally Sony Ericsson has phones that can start to compete with Nokia's GPS phones. I guess you've read abot the 6220: Priced like a mainstream phone, yet supports Symbian and GPS and when signing up to 3 you get 8 GB. Impressive.

Mobile politics
It's certainly time for a Democratic president in USA, but apart from that there are interesting differences between Democrats and Republicans in terms of mobile use, showing that Democrats might be younger, more intelligent and/or more open-minded. Xperia X1 panels
Sony Ericsson's Xperia X1 (made by HTC and runs Windows Mobile) supports something called panels, which is very much like widgets in Windows Vista etc. Sony Ericsson has now released means to create such panels on your own.

"XPERIA Panels are lightweight applications that extend the Today Screen API in order to provide a full-screen, immersive experience giving a configurable, finger-tip navigation to access different options through panels displayed on the phone's desktop."

Sony Ericsson wants you...
...or at least your mobile content, be it games, applications, themes etc.

Sony Ericsson Content Awards starts taking in submissions beginning mid September and up until the end of November.

Note the categories for this year:
  • Entertainment
  • Green application
  • In-car experience
  • Lifestyle applications
  • Panels for XPERIA
  • Productivity
  • Themes & Graphics

I'm not sure what "Panels for XPERIA" is supposed to be.

Last year one company submitted 3 applications in the same category (and won with one of them) and another company submitted 4 applications in different categories, so it seems many's the charm.
